Preserving a Pillar of the Hawthorn Community
Friends of the Auburn Tower Inc is an independent, non-denominational association, whose members wish to see the Auburn complex, particularly the unique square tower, preserved for future generations and accessible to the public.
The Auburn Tower is one of Hawthorn’s most recognisable landmarks and one of Melbourne’s finest examples of late nineteenth-century Romanesque church architecture.
The tower has become such a defining feature of the area that it has developed an identity of its own.
Auburn Tower Climb
One of the tower’s most unique features is its observation platform.
From the top, visitors enjoy 360-degree views across Melbourne, including Hawthorn, the CBD, the Dandenong Ranges and beyond.
